Walking into the Sitting Room from the Parlor, one is awed by the view of the large bay windows. The morning sun dances light and colors through the room from the beveled and colored glass.

The ornate mantel houses a unique fireplace. The cast iron housing creates a wonderful warmth when the fire is lit. The tall chimney provides a great draw for the fire as it extends from the basement, through the main & second stories and the third floor attic.

Note the pocket doors above, which glide easily open and shut. As with the woodworking, the finish is a warm honey that sets off the grain of the antique oak.

Past the sitting room is a powder room area, which leads to the water closet. Both rooms are decorated with beautiful etched and colored glass windows, each designed and crafted by the present owner. The bulbs you see in the water closet are antique, one of which was in the home when the current owner moved in in 1953. This is the only room in the home with any of its woodwork painted.
